Sitka ~ Jun 5 to Aug 14, 2009

Sitka - A nice town that kept the cruise ships at bay, literally. No docs for them so tourists board launches to bring them to town. They also managed to keep the cruise lines from putting up souvenir shops on the water front, preserving the town's character.
St. Michael's Orthodox Cathedral. The Russians occupied this an nearby areas until the US bought "Alaska" from them in the 1800s. The Russians only held title to a small area around Sitka.
