Juneau: Last stop in Alaska. View from windows of our hostess' window. Notice the stream of blue smoke from the stack of the ship. Ships are a big source of air pollution and it gets trapped in the canyon formed by mountains on the east and west sides of Juneau.
A view of the Mendenhall Glacier from aboard the ferry, approaching Juneau.

Glacier melt water comes out on the right.
Looking down the street in front of our hostess' home. Juneau is on the western slope of a mountain range, fronted by a passage way between it and the island to the left (west) in this image. There are no highways to Juneau — only ferries. On the other side of the mountains, to the east, is Canada.
