Parks Around Paris 5/8-23/2008

Parisian parks are alive with people.
This park was our welcome to Paris. My daughter took us there to enjoy lunch after flying into de Gaulle.
This building was along side the park.
A promenade leading into the park.
The French love their parks.

A model hydrofoil boat.
Kids, and adults, take their toy boats to the fountain in the park. The sail boats have remote controls.

Auguste BARTHODI (1834-1804)
On the occasion of the Universal Exhibition of 1900, sculptor Auguste Bartholdi offered to the museum of Luxembourg the bronze model which he used to create the stature of liberty in New York. The statue was sited in the Luxembourg garden in 1906.
Trees are trimmed in an unusual fashion each year to maintain their shape.
Radically pruned trees outline walkways.
