Columbia Graduation Ceremony

Looking away from the ceremonies out onto the crowd. They say there are 30,000 people on campus during graduation week. Looking toward the library. Alexandra's group of students were seated just beyond the gray panel. Of course we never saw her . . . . . . until after the graduation ceremonies: Alexandra in cap and gown.
Adjusting the cap. This series of four pictures shows the scope of the graduation ceremonies. The pictures were taken after the ceremonies, panning left to right across the audience. The graduation speakers spoke at a lectern in front of the library which stands in the background. The students graduating in nutrition were seated in just beyond the light pole, slightly right of center. Students in Human Nutrition - Alexandra's group. She was behind the banner. Of course we never saw her until after the ceremonies were over.
Honors were presented to several members of the faculty. Deans of various schools introduced candidates for degrees from various schools. The president of the university conferred degrees en-mass. Proud dad and daughter. Alexandra and Aunt Zenith. Fiancée Nam takes a picture of the graduate.
The graduate and her betrothed. We met after the ceremonies just outside of the west gate to Columbia at West 116 th  Street and Broadway. Alexandra and Betty. The graduate couldn't wait to get rid of the hot robe and take a drink of water. Leaving Columbia via the subway at 116 th  and Broadway.
